SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (October 25, 1994) -- PF. Magic has announced the much-anticipated, worldwide release of PaTaank (puh-TONK), the first truly ╥point-of-view╙ 3-D pinball thrill-ride ever delivered. The game, for the 3DO Multiplayer, is being simultaneously distributed worldwide in the US, UK and Japan by Crystal Dynamics under an affiliate label relationship. Suggested retail price for PaTaank is $59.99. Torcano, the soundtrack CD based on the music from PaTaank, as well as the Torcano music video which incorporates the soundtrack and action-packed game play from PaTaank, will be released in November. It is the first time a video game has been simultaneously released with its own music video and soundtrack CD.

PaTaank pushes the limits of the 32-bit 3DO Multiplayer╒s amazing 3-D graphics, speed, video, stereo music and sound effects. The game provides the exhilaration of an amusement park ride, with the challenge of an action-packed pinball game.
PaTaank takes the player on a highly kinetic ride through three challenging playfields all interconnected by hair-raising tunnels. Players can play each level of the game individually, or play all three levels combined in a more challenging MetaGame. Designed for 1-4 players, the game features hard-edged graphics, fierce speeds, live-action video walls and fast driving stereo music and sound effects.
PaTaank gives novice players a chance to jump right in, while advanced players will go for skill shots, earning specials, jackpots, and access to more intense challenges. Pinball-like action includes bumpers, dingers, drop targets, magnetos, ramps, chutes and drains. (Note: PaTaank is the sound of a puck careening off a bumper and smashing into a wall.)
In November, PF. Magic will be releasing Torcano, the soundtrack CD based on the music from PaTaank, as well as the Torcano music video, which incorporates the soundtrack and action-packed game play from PaTaank. Interactive Audio, developers of the award-winning interactive music product Rock, Rap ╘n Roll, created the music for Torcano and PaTaank. H-Gun, a hot, interactive video production company recently profiled in Wired magazine, developed the Torcano music video.
